Some of the classes I teach have a set theme and I spent time beforehand planning a sequence. Each class is different but it’s always the same style so students know what to expect.

And some classes are designed by my students: I walk into the classroom and students get to decide what they want to work on or name specific poses the class will revolve around. I then see who’s in the class and make up a sequence on the spot based on what was requested (keeps me on my toes and students feel seen) - also makes me feel like Santa making wishes come true haha

In one of my more powerful classes yesterday I got the request to incorporate deep heart openers and slightly more advanced backbends (yesss 💥). So beautiful to see people’s reactions when the body finds space and is able to let go of built up tension and tightness

it’s been a long time since I last took yoga photos and shared them online. there’s something about being in new places and surrounded by nature that inspires me to capture the moment. so happy to see some hills, so much lush greenery and fresh local food! a nice little change from the scenes in Grand Cayman

what I love about yoga is that it’s not about how fast you can do things, but rather how slow & controlled you can do them

it teaches & invites you to really connect with your body

my practice has changed a lot over the last few months from “just” yoga & body workouts to a lot of running, cycling and even weight lifting

it’s amazing and fascinating to see the body transform and change. our bodies are capable of so much and it’s such a gift to challenge & grow it in different ways!

yet it always always feels good coming back to my mat. there’s not much that’s needed 🫶🏼
