Pretty much straight across the lake from the spot we stayed the night from day 7 to 8 on our travelling through the Provence there is a small town called Les salles-sur-Verdon.
With not being super interesting itself (besides maybe the ticket store where all kinds of tickets can be purchased), there are lots of possibilities to park and even spend the night – both, free parking lots and paid camping grounds.
During the whole time in France we have been really astonished by how easy it is to wild camp, car camp or even RV camp in France, and that all for free in really great spots – I haven’t been anywhere else where camping has been cheaper, easier, and prettier than in France.
For last night we found a spot only a few meters away from the lake, under some trees, and woke up with a view to the beautiful blue water. How could any spot possibly be better 😉
